Protective Education for Healthcare Workers

Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking

Human trafficking and sexual exploitation is a major public health problem. Often stigmatized as a foreign or third-world issue, domestic trafficking is an often unseen issue. Health care providers are often the only professionals able to interact with trafficking victims while they are still being exploited. Behavioural and physical signs can be spotted to identify these people, and get them the help they require.

This Protective Education Module has been designed to provide healthcare providers with knowledge about sexual exploitation, and offer tools designed to identify, approach, and assist victims.
